A waiting game ...

This is the offending limb. It feels a bit easier today but it's still mighty sore and any thought of running is a distant one.

I'm wondering now how much time I could afford to lose from a 16-week training schedule and still do the marathon.

If I lost up to two weeks, I might just get away with it. Any more than that and I think I'd have to cut my losses and run. Or not, as the case may be.

My hunch is that if I dropped the number of runs a week from five to three but kept doing the long runs and continued extending them up to 22, I should get by.

That's based on the experience of Amsterdam when I only did three runs during some weeks.

The key components are the long runs. I might not achieve my target but it could be enough to get me round.
