After weeks, if not months, of hard work, our club's annual prize-giving ceremony took place on Friday night.
The common consensus was that it went really well. The star attraction on the night was Allan Wells and it was fascinating to hear some of the psychology he applied during his successful competitive years.
We'd all hoped that his words would inspire our young athletes and they certainly seemed to do just that. His track session the following morning was very well received and gave our coaches some food for thought.
Lots more to do on the club front but for now, I'm just glad that it all went so smoothly - although I have to admit to having had some heart flutters when his plane was delayed and didn't touch down until 6.30pm.
Worry about the things we can control - don't worry about the rest. A good motto.
Amid all this talk about running, all I've done in the past week is the club's Tuesday night session.
I set out several times with the intention of running but work or some other minor inconvenience got in the way.
Need to try to knuckle down a bit this week.
